The Work We Take On

We fix and replace garage doors, springs, openers, and track assemblies across Walnut Creek and the close-in areas we actually reach on a normal day - San Miguel a mile out just northeast. Most of the houses we're called to went up between 1938 and 2008, with the median build year landing around 1972, and the bulk of that stock is 1960s and '70s construction spread across the 39 named areas we cover. That means a lot of torsion springs on side-mounted hardware, steel panel doors that have been repainted twice, and openers on their second or third motor.

The mild temperate climate out here doesn't put the same stress on seals and hardware that you'd see somewhere with real freeze-thaw cycles, so when a door fails here it's almost always wear, a snapped spring, or a worn-out opener board - not weather damage. We handle broken spring replacement, cable work, roller and track repair, panel swaps, opener installs and repairs, and full door replacement when a repair doesn't make sense anymore. We work on both single and double doors, torsion and extension spring setups, and the range of opener brands you'll find in a house built any time from the late 1930s through the 2000s.

A closed gray garage door is visible from inside a clean garage.

Work We Turn Down

We don't take on commercial overhead doors, gate operators, or full smart-home integration work - that's a different trade with different parts suppliers, and we'd rather say so up front than take the job and do it halfway.

We also turn down repair calls where the math doesn't work. If a torsion spring conversion kit for an older door costs more in parts and labor than a new door and opener would run, we'll tell you that instead of billing you for a patch that won't last. Some of the oldest houses in the service area still have original one-piece hinged doors or non-standard hardware that predates today's spring and track kits, and for a few of those, sourcing compatible parts takes longer than the job is worth. We'd rather tell you that on the phone than after we've already opened the panel.

We don't give firm prices over text for a job we haven't seen, either. A cracked panel can be hiding a bent track or a bad header behind it, and guessing at a number before we've looked just costs you more once we're actually standing in front of the door.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Walnut Creek. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

My house in Walnut Creek is from the 1970s - is my door original?

It's common. Most of the housing stock here was built in that decade, and a lot of those garage doors and their torsion springs are still the originals or close to it. If your spring has never been replaced, it's worth having it checked even if the door still seems to work fine, since old springs fail without much warning.

Do you cover San Miguel?

Yes, both are close in - San Miguel about a mile out a couple miles to the northeast - and we service them regularly along with the rest of Walnut Creek and the surrounding towns out to about a 15-mile radius.

Why won't you give me a price over the phone?

Because the real cost depends on what's actually wrong, and on a door that might be fifty years old, that's not always obvious until we look. We'll diagnose on site and quote before doing any work, so you know the number before we touch the door.

Do you install new garage doors or just repair?

We do both. A lot of the older stock in this area has doors with rusted bottom panels or openers that are past fixing, and in those cases replacement makes more sense than another repair. We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in.
